Our boat is capped at twelve passengers by the Coast Guard, which is the first thing most large groups run into. The answer is a second boat. We run both on the same route, to the same stops, on the same schedule, so a group of up to twenty four spends the day together rather than split across two separate trips.
Large group trips are booked by request rather than through the online checkout, so give us a call or a text with your date and headcount and we will put it together.
How Two Boats Work
Twelve guests ride with us on Adventure I and the rest ride on a second boat running the exact same itinerary. Both boats have their own licensed and insured captain, and the two run together all day.
- Same destinations. Both boats stop at the same islands and the same waterfront bars, so nobody misses anything.
- Same setup on both boats. The second boat carries the same inclusions as ours, including its own licensed captain, cooler and ice, water and towels. Both boats are BYOB and neither provides food. There is more on that boat below.
- Together at the stops. At the sandbar or the island the boats anchor alongside each other, and people move between them freely, which is where a big group actually feels like one group.
- Bar hopping as one crew. If the plan includes docking downtown at Armature Works or along the Riverwalk, you all walk in together.
About the Second Boat
The second boat is a 2021 Yamaha AR250, a 25-foot twin-engine jet boat. It comes from a partner operator we run with regularly, a commercial operator carrying their own insurance and bringing their own licensed captain.
It is a smaller boat than Adventure I, and that is worth knowing before you decide who rides where. It takes twelve guests, and it comes with a cooler and ice, floats and a water lounger for the sandbar stops, and children’s life vests if you have kids along. Dogs are welcome on it as well, up to two.
Fuel is included on both boats, the same as a standard charter with us. Both are BYOB and neither one provides food.
What a Large Group Charter Costs
There is no group surcharge. A two-boat trip is priced as two charters at our normal rate for whichever length you pick, so the per-person cost lands in the same place it would if you had twelve guests instead of twenty four.
The math is simply double. Whatever the charter length costs for one boat, a two boat trip is twice that:
- Sunset charter: from $599 for one boat, from $1,198 for two
- 4-hour charter: from $899 for one boat, from $1,798 for two
- 6-hour charter: from $1,299 for one boat, from $2,598 for two
- 8-hour charter: from $1,799 for one boat, from $3,598 for two

Add-ons work per boat rather than per booking. A DJ, a bottle girl or boy, or a photographer covers the boat they are on, so if you want one on both boats that is two add-ons. Plenty of groups put a DJ on one boat and leave the other quieter, which is worth thinking about before you decide.
How Many Guests Can You Take?
- Up to 12 guests: one boat. This is the standard private charter and it books online.
- 13 to 24 guests: two boats on the same route. This is the setup this page is about, and it is the one most large groups take.
- More than 24 guests: by request. Our closest partner runs two boats, so a third boat depends on availability that day. Call as early as you can and we will tell you straight away whether we can cover it.
Twelve per boat is a Coast Guard limit rather than ours, so it is firm no matter the boat.
Which Charters Run as a Large Group Trip
Every private charter we offer can run as a two boat trip:
- 4-hour charter, for one main thing, either bars or islands
- 6-hour charter, the one most groups pick
- 8-hour charter, for an all day run with several stops
- Sunset charter, available any day of the week
The Wave Rave night charter runs as a single boat only.
Booking a Large Group
Two boat trips are arranged by phone rather than through the online checkout, because we confirm the second boat for your date before anything is locked in. Call or text with your date, your headcount and the length you want, and we will confirm availability and send the booking over.
Weekends and holidays go first, and the second boat is the part that gets scarce, so give yourself as much lead time as you can.

Can we really all be together?
Yes. The boats run the same route and anchor alongside each other at the stops, so the only time the group is split is while you are actually under way.
Does a bigger group cost more per person?
No. It is two charters at the normal rate, so the per-person cost is the same as a twelve-guest trip.
Can you take 20 people?
Yes. Anything from 13 to 24 guests runs as two boats. A group of 20 is a common size for this.
Can you take 30 people?
Sometimes. Past 24 we need a third boat, which is by request and depends on what is available that day. Call and ask about your date.
Does the second boat have its own captain?
Yes. Every boat runs with a licensed and insured captain. Guests never drive.
Is the second boat set up the same way?
Yes. Same inclusions as ours: captain, sound system, coolers with ice, water and towels. Both boats are BYOB and neither provides food.
If we book a DJ, is that on both boats?
No. Add-ons are per boat, so a DJ covers the boat they are on. Booking one for both boats means booking two.
Can guests switch boats during the trip?
Yes, at the stops. Once the boats are anchored alongside each other you can move between them however you like. While we are under way everyone stays on the boat they boarded.
