We can pick your group up there, dock mid-trip for lunch or drinks, or make it the last stop of your charter. What Is Armature Works?
The building went up in 1910 as the Tampa Electric streetcar warehouse, where the city’s streetcars were stored and repaired until the system wound down in the 1940s. It sat mostly quiet for decades before being restored with its industrial bones intact, and today it anchors the Tampa Heights waterfront. Inside is the Heights Public Market, a 22,000 square foot food hall with local chefs and vendors, along with bars, restaurants, and a lawn that runs right down to the Hillsborough River.
Can You Get to Armature Works by Boat?
Yes, and more easily than almost anywhere else in Tampa. The Heights District Public Boat Docks sit directly at the property, which is why Armature Works is one of our two preferred pickup locations along with the Davis Island Boat Ramp. Your charter can start there, end there, or dock mid-trip while your group eats and drinks before getting back on the water.
What Does a Charter Stop There Look Like?
The boat docks, everyone steps off, and the food hall does the rest. Groups usually graze the market stalls, grab a round at the bar, and spread out on the riverfront lawn before walking back down to the dock. From the water you get the view most visitors never see: the whole restored warehouse front lit up along the river, with the downtown skyline behind you on the cruise home.
