Add an Intern to Your Charter: What They Do (and Why Guests Love It)

March 2026

TBBA interns are a core part of the experience when available. They are not required for a great day on the water, but when one joins your Tampa Bay boat charter, most groups quickly realize how much smoother everything feels.

This post explains what interns actually do on board, how availability works, and why so many guests request them.

What a TBBA Intern Actually Does on Your Boat Charter

Interns are not just extra bodies on the boat. They actively contribute to the flow and energy of the day.

On board, a TBBA intern typically:

  • Helps with music choices and keeps the vibe moving
  • Helps take photos when you want group shots
  • Uses local knowledge to assist the captain and guide the flow of the trip
  • Adds energy to the day and is genuinely fun to have on board

They understand how party boat days typically unfold. They know when energy dips and when to shift the playlist. They know when to suggest a group photo before the lighting changes. They help keep momentum steady without taking over the experience.

They are there to support the captain and enhance the guest experience, not control it.

Intern Add-On Cost and Availability on Tampa Bay Charters

Interns are free.

There is no additional charge to have one join your charter when available.

However, interns are not always available. Their schedules vary, and placement depends on the day, timing, and group size.

Important note: interns cannot join 12-person trips. Boats are limited to 12 passengers, so intern add-ons are only possible when the group size is fewer than 12. If you are planning a full 12-person boat day, there is no room for an additional person onboard.

Why Guests Say a Charter Intern Makes the Whole Day Easier

Groups consistently say the same thing after trips with interns: it felt easier.

First, there is less work for the group. Someone is helping manage music, capturing photos, and keeping small details organized. That frees up the organizer to actually enjoy the day instead of coordinating it.

Second, you get better memories. With someone available to take photos, fewer people are stuck holding phones all day. More group shots happen naturally. That means better documentation of the experience. For truly professional results, TBBA also offers a professional photographer add-on for your charter.

Third, there is a local presence onboard who understands the rhythm of the water. Interns are familiar with popular destinations such as Beer Can Island and the Tampa Riverwalk. They help the day feel coordinated without being rigid.

The result is a smoother, more relaxed group dynamic, whether you are hosting a bachelorette party on the water, a birthday boat charter, or just a group outing with friends.

How to Request a TBBA Intern for Your Charter

Requesting an intern is simple.

You can:

  • Request one when booking your charter
  • Send a message after booking asking about availability

We will confirm whether an intern can join based on the date, timing, and your group size. If your group is fewer than 12 and an intern is available, they will be added at no cost. You can also browse all available charter add-ons, including a custom setlist DJ or a bottle girl or bottle boy, to build out your ideal day on Tampa Bay.
